Western United F.C. Strength & Conditioning Program


Scenes from the Current Strength and Conditioning Session (July-August 2006)





The program will provide strength and conditioning experience and education to Western United soccer players. Strength and conditioning will help to enhance soccer performance and prevent injuries. Players will have an opportunity to learn about and participate in a variety of modes of strength and conditioning training, including progressive resistance exercises, plyometrics, pilates, circuit training, speed and agility training. All activities will be age appropriate for participants.

Program:



The program will focus on:

  • Muscular strength & endurance
  • Cardiovascular fitness
  • Flexibility
  • Speed, Power, Agility & Balance


    Equipment: The player fees collected for the strength and conditioning program will be used to purchase equipment for use during the program. Participants are encouraged to purchase equipment for use at home. Players will learn to use: physio balls, medicine balls, resistance bands, jump ropes, hoops, ladders, steps and more.
